Monitor
RAMFlowAI continuously scans your running processes, tracking memory usage, CPU activity, and idle time.
The open-source engine that uses AI to intelligently manage your memory so any computer can run like it has twice the RAM.
Your RAM, managed by intelligence.
Use RAMFlowAI the way that matches your setup and budget.
Bring your own AI key and keep everything local.
Unlimited cleanups and instant setup through the portal.
The AI revolution has been incredible, but it came at a cost. Modern applications, browser tabs, and AI tools have sent RAM usage through the roof. Computers that once felt snappy now choke under the weight of memory-hungry processes.
We are passionate about using the very technology that created the problem to solve it. RAMFlowAI harnesses AI to continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize your system's memory automatically, silently, and safely.
The AI that pays for itself by saving the resources AI demands.
Sluggish. Swapping. Frustrating.
Lean. Fast. Intelligently managed.
RAMFlowAI keeps the workflow simple: watch what is happening, analyze it with AI, then recover wasted memory without constant manual cleanup.
RAMFlowAI continuously scans your running processes, tracking memory usage, CPU activity, and idle time.
An AI engine evaluates which processes are safe to trim or close while protecting critical apps and active work.
Memory is freed automatically so your computer stays more responsive with less intervention from you.
Turn any PC into a lean, mean computing machine.
RAMFlowAI is open source. Use it for free, or let us handle the AI layer so setup stays simple and predictable.
Bring your own AI API key. Full control, full transparency.
Unlimited AI-powered cleanups. We handle everything.
$1/month supports the open source work behind RAMFlowAI, benefiting the common good for everyone.
Whether you self-host or use RAMFlowAI Cloud, setup takes under a minute and uses the same desktop app.
Get the app from GitHub or our download page, then run the installer. The setup is lightweight and quick.
In the app, open Settings and set the API endpoint to:
https://api.ramflowai.org/v1/chat/completions
If you use GPT, Claude, or other AI APIs directly, every cleanup request costs money. Those API calls add up fast, often to $5-$20 per month or more for continuous memory management.
We do things differently. Our AI engine massively caches and optimizes millions of previously performed memory cleanups. We do not ask the AI to think from scratch every time because we have already seen the scenario before.
Combined with cost-efficient infrastructure, that means we can offer unlimited cleanups for a month for just $1 while staying focused specifically on RAM management.
RAMFlowAI is built in the open. Inspect the code, contribute features, report bugs, or fork it and make it your own. Smart memory management should be accessible to everyone.
Review the source, verify the behavior, and understand how the optimizer works.
Add features, improve the UI, or adapt the project to your own workflows.
Use your own AI provider and infrastructure when that better fits your stack.
Smart memory for every machine.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
RAMFlowAI started the way most good tools do — with a problem nobody was solving.
The founders behind VedAstro, an established open-source project with a growing community, ran into a wall that no amount of skill could code around: their laptops didn't have enough RAM, and there was no way to add more.
Not because they couldn't afford it. Because the hardware wouldn't allow it. Most laptops ship with RAM soldered directly to the motherboard — a fixed ceiling that no upgrade path can raise. And they're far from alone. Millions of machines out there have capable processors, solid storage, and perfectly good displays, all held hostage by 8 or 16 GB of memory that can never grow.
Meanwhile, the software keeps growing. Chrome alone can consume gigabytes across a handful of tabs. Layer on modern AI tools, IDEs, design apps, and communication platforms, and even a MacBook that felt fast on day one starts grinding within a couple of years. The RAM your apps demand is only going up. The RAM your hardware provides is staying exactly where it is.
That gap is the problem RAMFlowAI was built to close.
The idea was simple and a little ironic: use AI to take back the memory that AI took. A lightweight engine that watches what's running, asks an AI model what's safe to trim or release, and quietly frees up space — all without you lifting a finger.
Early testing confirmed what we hoped. Machines that had been sluggish for months felt noticeably faster. Not placebo-fast — measurably, consistently faster. The kind of improvement that no other tool on the market was delivering, because no one else was applying intelligence to the problem.
At that point, we had a choice. We could package it up, lock it behind a paywall, and wait for the market to catch up. Instead, we did what we've always done — we open-sourced it.
RAMFlowAI is a non-profit, community-first project. The core engine is free, the code is fully inspectable, and anyone can self-host it. We believe smart memory management shouldn't be a luxury. It should be a utility — accessible to every student, developer, and professional whose hardware still has years of life left in it.
We took the leap before this space gets crowded with subscription traps and closed-source black boxes. Because once something is open, it stays open.
Your RAM. Your machine. Intelligently managed.
